Announces New Executive Brandon, MB, April 20, 2002--The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association Zone 2 announced its new executive over the weekend Provincial Annual General Meeting. Kevin A. Choy, a businessman, is the newly elected Zone Commander. Darryl Childerhose, former Zone Commander, is Treasurer. Norm Griffiths becomes Chief Navigator, George Norberg, Secretary and the Chief Spotter is Kathy Serle. Tom Clubb continues as Assistant Zone Commander. Chief Pilot duties will be held by Choy. The General Meeting held at the Brandon Flying Club also re-elected Larrie Happy of Brandon as the Provincial Vice President. “I am proud of the dedication local volunteers have dedicated to our motto ‘That Others May Live’” said Choy of the large turn-out of over seventy five members at the Meeting. “The Department of National Defence, Transport Canada and communities across Manitoba view our organization as a vital asset in immediate life saving and rescue,” added Choy. The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association of Manitoba is a civilian, volunteer, non-profit association dedicated in searching for and rescuing the crew and passengers of lost aircraft, and others who may require such assistance. Zone 2 is one of four Zones in Manitoba covering the area between The Pas, Thompson and Winnipeg. Its fleet of eight light aircraft remains ready for independent and coordinated searches with both the military and the R.C.M.P.. For more information about CASARA contact: Kevin A.
